Phoenix Police Scanner

Hear What’s Happening Around Phoenix

Live Phoenix Police, Maricopa County Sheriff, fire and paramedic calls — on a scanner we set up for your address before it ships.

Yes — you can still hear Phoenix as it happens. Phoenix Police precinct dispatch runs in the clear on the Regional Wireless Cooperative, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s district channels are open, and Phoenix Fire’s regional dispatch is one of the most useful single channels in the country. We load all of it for your exact address before we ship.

What you’ll be hearing

Your Phoenix precinct

Phoenix PD dispatches by precinct — Cactus Park, Maryvale, South Mountain and the rest. We load the ones that cover you.

Maricopa County Sheriff

MCSO district dispatch across the county, including the desert edges where city coverage runs out.

Twenty fire departments at once

Phoenix Fire runs a regional dispatch that covers roughly twenty Valley departments on one channel — an enormous amount of live traffic from a single talkgroup.

Monsoon, dust and I-10

Arizona DPS on the interstates plus fire and rescue crews working haboobs, flash floods and heat calls as they come in.

We do the hard part for you

Nothing to program. The Valley is a patchwork — Phoenix and Tempe are open, several East Valley suburbs have encrypted. Give us your address and we load what genuinely reaches you and tell you up front what’s off the table.

Not in Phoenix? We program a scanner for any U.S. address. Check your area free and see exactly what you can hear before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

Is Phoenix police radio encrypted?

No. Phoenix PD precinct dispatch is unencrypted and receivable. Tactical and pursuit channels are encrypted, which is normal — the routine dispatch traffic that makes a scanner worth owning is in the clear.

I live in Mesa, Scottsdale or Peoria — will it work?

Those departments have encrypted their police radio, so we won’t promise you their patrol traffic. What we can still load is Phoenix Fire’s regional dispatch (which covers your city’s fire department), the county sheriff, and DPS. Tell us your address and we’ll be straight with you.

Do I have to program it myself?

No. It ships already set for your exact Phoenix-area address — no menus, no frequency lists, no research.

What is the Regional Wireless Cooperative?

It’s the shared digital radio system Phoenix and its neighbours use. It means you need a digital-capable scanner rather than an old analog one — which is exactly what we send you.

How fast will it ship?

Most orders go out within one business day, already programmed for your area.
